Weekly Update #2 - 09/09
Welcome Back
Thank you all for returning for another weekly update, I am so blessed by everyone who has read and interacted with the blog. Especially by those of you who commented on the post. Really quick just a few housekeeping items. You'll have noticed some changes to the website, I hope you enjoy them. Over the next few weeks, the website should be updated, and things will look nicer. Also, I am working on getting the website more accessible on Google, so try and search it on Google, hopefully everything works.
Encouragement/What God has been teaching me
I want to start each update with an encouragement and what the Lord has been teaching me through classes and just being at Bible College. This past week we started the book of Isaiah. And I know what some of you are thinking, uh oh, a major prophet. Surely there's no encouragement there, only destruction. And yes, Isaiah prophesies the destruction of Israel and Judah. But there is so much more. God is so merciful to us; He desires to show us His grace and mercy. Isaiah 1:18 the principal verse to understand the whole book displays His Love for us. "Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be white as snow: Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool". How good is our God to us? If only we would relent from our sin, He will wash us clean. He's a good Father who just wants us to do what is right and seek Him. So, I'd like to encourage you all. Whatever is keeping you from the Lord this week, leave it at His feet, and be washed by His blood.
What have I been doing?
This past week I have been blessed to start serving in Calvary Trujillo's projection ministry. It's similar to our sound booth. It's a slight challenge since it's all in Spanish, but the Lord is growing me in that area. During my service hours I have been helping construct the bathroom for the guy's dorm room. Currently we just have one men's restroom, so hopefully that changes. I also have a wonderful house group that meets on Friday nights, and I'll show you guys the view I get of Trujillo. And this morning (09/09) I went and took a boxing lesson at a local gym that one of the men in the church owns. And then there's a sign from a local cafe, it basically says coffee fixes everything, even when "Nadie te quiere", which means "No one wants you", coffee will fix that too.
There's plenty more I've been doing, but I do want to keep these somewhat concise for the sake of everyone's time.
Some Blessings from the Lord
Over the coming updates you'll see me mention names of people, because I want you all to be involved with what is happening here. This weekend we had three wonderful men from a Calvary Chapel in San Diego come and work on the guy's bathroom. Fernando, Miguel, and Javier are their names.
They worked Thursday to Sunday, they left Monday. And the whole time they were here, they worked extremely hard. And I was privileged to help them. They were such a blessing, so pray for these awesome servants.
Prayer Requests and the Future of my Semester
I so appreciate the prayers of everyone, it is such a gift to have a church back home that is interested in what I am up to. But there are two big prayer requests I have for y'all. The first is that Calvary Chapel Trujillo is hosting an Internation Missions Conference for Pastors and Missionaries from all over the world... But you'll get to hear more about it from video Micah soon. The second is for the upcoming mission's week to Lima, the capital of Peru! It is still two months off, but we are already preparing for it. I and the other students will be ministering in local schools to the children. We will also help a local church in Lima put on a huge crusade that will have tons of people attending. So, please start praying for that already, and for the hearts of those who will be reach. I'll keep you guys updated, and I will send a video explaining more of it later on.
Aside from that, please be praying for my studies. Not only my Biblical studies, but I am starting to study Spanish a couple hours a week, and I will need the Lord's strength to do it all. With that, thank you all so much. I love and miss you all.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
🌸Micah, We are eager to hear all about the International Pastor’s Conference that will be on your campus! With your campus capacity being stretched, we will all be praying that it is a glorious time of refreshing for the Pastors, staff members and missionaries world-wide who will be gathering together to encourage one another and hear from the Lord. May HE bless and provide the strength that is needed for all of the servants during this week long event. May your early mornings and late nights bless all and be a blessing and time of maturing as you are each stretched and May HE minister greatly to you and your fellow students as you see the faces, the excitement, the…
